NAROL, MB:  At UV Pools, a family-owned custom pool repair business located just northeast of the city of Winnipeg, the team of twelve staff has recently undergone First Aid and CPR training in preparation for the upcoming pool season.  With spring just around the corner, it’s important that UV Pools is 100% ready to dive into its seasonal work.

UV Pools has been a fixture in the Winnipeg pool industry since 2009, but owner Dale Kreviazuk’s expertise in pool repair goes back even further than that.  Gaining an interest in pool construction and maintenance from his father, Kreviazuk has nearly two decades of pool industry experience under his belt.  His company consists of three teams of expert pool repair specialists who work to professionally mitigate any issues people might be encountering with their backyard pools.  UV Pools’ popular services include pool liner replacements, pool renovations, repairs, and the installation of pool safety covers and equipment.

Kreviazuk refers to himself and his team at UV Pools as pool nerds.  “We are seriously knowledgeable about pools,” he says.  “Everyone who steps on your property is bonded and insured—plus they come to each job armed with a sense of humour.”  Kreviazuk sees the need for more trained trades in the pool repair industry and, for that reason, has created the UV Pools Internal Apprenticeship Program, which focuses on training up-and-coming pool craftspeople.

For Kreviazuk, investing in his team also means ensuring that they’re well-equipped to know how to handle an emergency situation. That’s why the UV Pools staff recently have been certified in First Aid and CPR.  “In our line of work, we need to know how to take care of ourselves and each other,” he says.  “And this is one way to ensure that we are as prepared to do that as possible.”
