1. Schedule the job.
2. Measuring the pool for the new liner. This is a step that must be done carefully since the fit of the new liner will directly impact the success of the replacement job. If the new liner is too small it will be over stressed when filled and the potential for tearing exists. If it’s too large, it will be impossible to get all the wrinkles out. This job is best done by someone with knowledge and experience.
3. Choose a vinyl liner pattern: We have many patterns to choose from to suit every style. Everything from blue, grey, brown, and black.
4. Order the new liner.
5. Wait for it to arrive.
6. Once we’ve received notice that your new liner has been made and is on it’s way we’re ready to get started. We begin the process by draining your pool. The day prior to our start date we will set up pumps to empty your pool water unto the street. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a whole day depending on how full your pool is before we begin. We bring all our own pumps, hoses, extension cords, etc. so you don’t have to worry about a thing. We will usually call you to check on the progress a few times and perhaps ask you to unplug the pumps if the pool is empty.
7. Once the pool is empty, the hard work begins. We’ll begin the job by removing the old pool liner. We literally cut the liner out of the pool. We slice along the top of the liner and allow it to drop into the pool. Then start cutting it into manageable pieces which we roll and remove from your yard. We keep the work area nice and tidy. Once the bulk of the liner is out we carefully remove the trim that covers the liner track. We do our best to save the trim, but often it has become quite brittle with time and will crack as we remove it. If this happen it will be replaced with new trim. We then remove fixtures, lights and faceplates. We then inspect the walls, jets, skimmer, and pool bottom. If the pool bottom has softened with time or chlorinated water loss then there is a good chance that it will have to be resurfaced. The underground pool lines get pressure tested and we check for any leaks. The pool walls get sanded and touchup paint where needed and the joints get re-sealed.
8. When the pool bottom has dried out the new liner is then ready to be installed. Any bottom prep is done before the liner is installed. The liner is hung in the pool track and vacuums are hooked up to suck the air out from behind the pool liner and vacuum form it to the shape of your pool. When the liner is in place and sucked against the pool walls the filling with water begins. Most customers choose to have a load or 2 of water trucked in to fill the pool quickly and then the noisy vacuums do not have to run during the night. The faceplates around the skimmer, jets, and staircase are installed and sealed to prevent water from leaking behind.
9. When your pool is full the water will have to be initally treated to balance the chemicals. If the floor in your pool got resurfaced it is best to wait a few days to let it fully harden before you take your first dip!
